After the upgrade, Citrix Receiver would not function properly, so I upgraded to the latest Citrix Receiver update that was supposed to be compatible with High Sierra. I recently upgraded to High Sierra.Configure for anywhere access from your desktop or web access with Safari, Chrome or Firefox. Now a SOCKS proxy is not being set up anymore when the computer starts up.Even with Macintosh, you gotta be careful where you surf to on the Internet! Products like Malwarebytes and others would not be available for Mac if there wasn't a problem needing a solution!Now I have to hope that nothing sensitive was stolen by this man-in-the-middle proxy trojan! I am thinking not, though, since Internet networking wouldn't work at all until I disabled the SOCKS proxy. It found "mitmproxy" as well as seven other things which I promptly deleted or quarantined.![]() I was having the same problem as the OP. That I found that this SOCKS proxy was the problem. I knew it must be still be on my computer somewhere since it kept coming back, but I had no idea where.It wasn't until recently when I noticed that my Google searches were taking FOREVER to load and often just failing, but other websites when I'd go to them directly would be working fine. I'd do a spotlight search for "Profiles" and have to remove "MainAdviseSearch" again to fix the problem. Mitmproxy.My root folder was "locked", When i tried to click on it to open it said I didn't have permission. From there I was looking for the file var > root >. Followed the link BC Advisor sent above (this one: )However my Macintosh HD was displaying be default in my Finder Sidebar so I first had to Open finder, Go to Finder (in the top screen bar) > Preferences > sidebar > Check Macintosh HD.From there I picked up and followed what that article said to do to show hidden files. I'm not a programer so I used Finder to find the file. Vox amp serial number datingHasn't come back since deleting and not re-appearing, but that was only a couple hours ago. But then I was able to just delete them a few more times and they stopped re-appearing.Fingers crossed I'm through with this virus for good now. Mitmproxy.I deleted both of these folder and there contents and they actually came right back immediately. Literally made this account to comment my appreciation and add some detail to hopefully help anyone else. If I don't message again, this worked. Tried to explain out all my steps in detail in case anyone else is have this exact problem. But if you don't see me message here again know that this worked for me.
